Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment or endodontic therapy, is an effective & safe treatment for teeth with pulp that has become inflamed or infected. This type of treatment will help save and restore a tooth.
Root canal treatment involves removing the infected or injured pulp from inside the crown and also removing the roots of a tooth. Once the tooth is cleaned, it is disinfected, shaped, filled and sealed with a natural rubber-like material known as gutta percha. The opening of the tooth is then sealed with a filling.
A successful root canal treatment lets you keep the tooth, rather than having it extracted. This prevents your other teeth from drifting out of line and causing issues with jaw alignment.
